Mass Effect - EU release date announced

If this is anything like KoTOR, it will be an instant hit, for me at least.
:D
On another note, I wish some developer would take on KoTOR 3 (if someone hasn't already). 0.o

Bit early isn't it, your Elite would probably die before then :D

rofl at that pic.

Great news about the release date though. Going down to preorder Mass Effect tomorrow then!

I am guessing it will be similar to Jade Empire and KoToR which have strong RPG elements.
It would help if I knew what you didn't like about RPGs

I love Zelda because it's very linear... I suppose I'm just not a fan of overly open-ended games or ones without very clear cut objectives.

Kotor was mission based but like it Zelda you were free to explore other areas.
If this was not to your taste, pick a mission and follow instructions.
I am only assuming Mass Effect will be the same but I may be way off sorry!

I've never tried KOTOR.

I've never tried KOTOR.

My word! Go try it then :p

Good news that it's being released this side of christmas, just a pity that it's during my last year at uni, which I'll be pretty damn busy to say the least.

I'm hoping that it's like KOTOR in the sense that it's semi-linear but has the superb character development, action and reasonably detailed character levelling system in place, to not make it an all out RPG more of a friendly it's not going to kill you if you do something wrong levelling up RPG.

I'm shocked and disgusted! :p

Go get it.

It's not as non-linear as you'd imagine. The first ten hours are always the same, you get the freedom to do missions however you want to, but, you're following pretty much the same path every time. Later, you get some degree of freedom, but only in the order in which you do things, and there may be two or three ways of completing a specific mission. You can completely ignore the side-quests, if you choose to.

The KOTORs are superb and stood the test of time really well. I played through the first one again just a couple of months ago and it's still great fun.
