Mass Effect Legendary edition (Remastered 1,2 & 3)

Completed me 1 multiple times and played through me2. Got halfway through me3 then stopped for some reason. Never had any of the dlc for any of the games. Will purchase this, but not for a good 6 months as I have loads to play yet.
On PC, the DLC for ME:1, IIRC, was free.

I think it was ME2 that had the scanning? And I oddly really liked it :D It was a change of pace from the story and gameplay. Granted, I am NOT defending it, I can entirely see how boring it would be. I just accept I'm not fully there in the head.

I liked the games a lot. Some parts were a grind, but didn't detract from the overall experience. If this includes all the DLC i will be buying it.

I think 2 had resource scanning and you shoot the probes to collect them, that was an oddly satisfying distraction. But ME 1 had scanning moons for side missions I think, and it was so awkward and slow, and the side missions where you drive to a lightly defended base, kill them, and get picked up. Just clunky and repetitive.

I feel the resource scanning worked because it was something completely different, simple, not required, and "easy" to do. The side missions of ME1 were basically far less enjoyable versions of the main game anyway. ME 2 side missions you found had little snippets of story to them etc.

Yes, in ME1 you have these pretty bland missions to drive around a largely empty planet and they are very repetitive. In ME2 the scanning was just as repetitive and maybe a bit less tedious, although doesn't really have any material effect on the game or story, as far as I recall. I did still do it all on both though as the rest of the game was so great in both cases that it got an investment of time from me.

ME2 was the best of the series, I think. Fixed some of the clunkiness of ME1 and had a great balance and story. I'm currently replaying ME1 but already looking forward to playing ME2 again. Not sure if I'll buy the remasters at full price but I can see myself maybe getting a used copy for PS4 so I can play it again on a big screen.

Wasn't the scanning for resources so you could upgrade your weapons in 2?

I must be one of a handful of people that enjoyed the planet scanning.

I am not looking forward to driving the Mako again

Edit: I see there are a few other weirdos in here! :p

I'm with you. Planet scanning was fine and a nice change of pace, could be quite satisfying to find a spot with several elements at high levels. And driving the mako was just painful.

Mako was a blessing and a curse. I just learnt to enjoy it, and do silly stuff with it when driving :D

I seem to remember it was just endless grey planets for not much reward. But it was a long time ago I played it.

Different topic... I'm still torn up inside about my choices of who to save LOL.

ME3 killed my love of the games at the time....so much time and effort reduced to the stupid 3 colour choice ending; I only played through it once.

I am looking forward to seeing the old games polished and revamped especially ME1, time to revist the adventures of Commander Shepard

Apparently you can still get a game and people are still playing. You might end up playing with Aussies or Japanese or something but people are still playing!

Yeah, I took it for a spin on Xbox Series S earlier this year. But I lost all my weapon/character unlocks as I played on a new EA account so gave up quickly.
