Yeah Steam is saying release date of the 15th so thought I'd be out early Saturday morning.
So far what I've gathered is;
+Native 4k across the board.
+New UI and item system in ME1.
+Mako improved both driving and shooting.
+Native controller support.
+Some new hairstyles and redistributed costumes across the trilogy.
+New unified player progression between games.
-Not obviously prettier than modded PC version.
-No new added costumes or gear.
-Changed artistic vision of originals in some important scenes (Sovereign introduction, ME2 opening space walk etc.)
-A general washed and cleaned look across the board, taking away atmosphere and scene authenticity.
-No mods available, every mod will need to be remade from the ground up (unlikely to happen given the age of the games.)
So it looks like if you've never played the Mass Effect trilogy before or you've only experienced the original on a console, then the Legendary Edition is worth it. But if you're coming from a modded PC version, it's not going to be worth it (at least at the asking price), you may even consider it a downgrade considering mods are not compatible.
Really looking forward to playing this, preloaded ready. Absolutely loved the first one and never really got around to playing 2 and 3. Bit concerned about the early ultrawide footage I've seen on YouTube. Looks like all of the cutscenes and interactions (which obviously take up a huge chunk of the game) aren't actually redone for ultrawide at all.
You shouldn't be surprised, considering that most (I'm struggling to think of even one that does) new games released that support ultrawide do not bother to have UW versions of cutscenes.
Waiting patiently for my key.Logged into my cdkeys account and seems I now have a key, so all pre-loaded and ready for tonight.
Yeah I wish I would've caved when it was cheaper. Think I'll still bite at £43 though, annoyingly.Up to £43 now on cdkeys.com. I'll wait. It was £35 last week!
Actually I may just sub to EA Play Pro for a month. Should have them dusted within a month.
have done so now. Pre-loading.
Still very confused as to when this is going to go live. Steam says in one hour, yet if you view it in the library, it's tomorrow. And if you Google, we get it at 0200 GMT?
Why can't they ever make game releases simple lol
Waiting patiently for my key.
4pm GMT is the official release time supposedly.
On EA Desktop it says 4:00PM GMT+1
