Of course it is very fluid and gives you great choice most of the time which is great, the thing that annoys me is the way they try to make you think you've got a choice in cases where you don't.
LOL @ that chat choice ring image
From what I've seen the chat isn't as flexible as I thought it was going to be at first, take this made up example with 3 choices
"Why?"
"We need to get over there"
"I'm not going to let that happen".
It doesn't matter which you select, he always says "Why does that matter? I'm not going to sit by while X happens, we need to get over there right away" so it's only actually giving you the illusion of choice some of the time.

That doesn't really bother me as such, as I feel there are times in games when you simply have to be pushed down a particular path to progress the story. It's not the open world we all really want it to be, but then again very few games really deliver on the "go anywhere, do anything" premise so many of them say they have.
Those little chocies most of the time change the way you're crew think of you so they all important
ahhh so there's no online element to this at all ?
Yeah I know that, but why give 3 choices when all he's going to do is say all of them anyway?
You don't say all three. The only time you can say all three is when your trying to find out general information normally about planets and species. According to my mate this type of chat appears on the left-hand side.
In talks that effect the storyline you got three options but you can only select one. These appear on the right.

gamespot gave it 8.5, and they give halo 3 a 9.5 or something.
I'm always dubious about Gamespot reviews, I have no proof but I bet money/favours are changing hands.
Gametrailers reviews are good because you get to see the game in action for an extended period of time so you can make your own assessments. For example the GT review of Mass Effect showed the tearing/frame rate drops so you could assess if it would be a show stopper for you.
