Oh this has well miffed me off, although i played and completed it a while ago when it first came out via torrent. I opted to purchase it and play it again, which i bought 2 week ago and cost me 17quid with delivery included from the rainforest.
 
Not many games that can make the hair on the back of my neck stand up these days; Mass Effect delivers that, more than once. Well, well worth a fiver.
 
Meh, just been to the store mentioned in the OP and the one PC game they did have was Sim 3 :rolleyes:. Can't believe they don't keep any PC games there.
 
Mass Effect is one of the best PC games I've played! Love the twists and turns throughout it that you didnt expect. It's actually quite dark in places!
 
I went into a big tesco recently and the only games they sold was wii and the ds. Wtf? I ranted to my girlfriend for at least 10mins about it lol
 
Gotta say Im looking forward to ME2

I was a total goody goody first play through, going to be a proper bad boy on play number 2 :)
 
I wish you could edit your character between playthoughs, I love the kit I've amassed but I want to change his characteristics.

I went Infiltrator first time, but want to change to Sentinel with Assault rifle training to try out using biotics, guess I'll just have to start anew. :(

Just played this through for the second time (1st time on Xbox). Paid £14.99 for it though! :mad:

Damn good game though, great storyline.
 
Biotics are pretty overpowered, TBH.

Push + Lift + Shotguns = instant win. I did it as a Soldier first time around (AR+Sniper), and it was more difficult compared to my second playthough as Vanguard (Shotgun+Biotics).

Vary few opportunities to make use of a Sniper Rifle as nearly all combat is close quarters - and seeing as most AI decides to just charge right at your face, Shotguns are the best choice (IMO).
 
I couldn't really get they hang of the shotgun, I used pistol and tech for most of my first playthrough.

Though I did like to keep it handy, for close encounters

Throw + shotgun + explosive ammo - the tech means you can keep enemy away long enough for the gun to cool down between shots - and pretty much nothing can survive that...

Tho I prefer a maxed out assault rifle personally with maxed out overkill and the recharge perks.

Sniper rifle seems quite useless to me - doesn't seem to do much damage when it does hit and half the time doesn't seem to register hits.
