Never played Mass Effect 1 or 2, however I downloaded the Mass Effect 2 demo earlier and I enjoyed it. Are they both worth picking up?

Definitely :D
Cant be picked up for pretty cheap as well

Obviously play through the first one then second and import your character.
ME1 shouldn't take too long, depending on if you want to do the side missions and explore really

One of my favourite games on the 360

Mass effect 1 is good, has better RPG elements and some decent settings to get started. Overall a good game but Mass effect 2 really starts making the story come alive, great dialogue, graphics and exploration. It's got to be the best game this generation in my opinion and if you like Sci-fi then that's a huge plus. if not just enjoy the awesome gunning down and powers as you slap some aliens down.
It's quite simply amazing, ME 1 was pretty darn good and worth it but ME2 pushed it further.

I just got both of these from the bay for £20 (8 for mass effect and 12 for me2), started Mass Effect 1 today, seems quite good. I really enjoyed KOTOR and more recently Dragon age so no doubt I'll love these :)

After playing Mass Effect 1 for a good few hours now, I have to say
I absolutely LOATHE the hacking 'mini game'

what were they thinking???? !!!! ???? :mad::confused::mad::confused::eek:

Just wait until you get to the Probing in Mass Effect 2! :p

That said, it was the only down point to what I consider the best game so far of the year.

I actually enjoy the probing, but i play it on PC so can imagine its a bit more annoying with a controller.

i did the same thing, downloaded the demo and loved it, currently 16 hours into mass effect 1, buy it now, it's amazing !

Got Mass Effect 1 today. I have a shotgun and an assault rifle which are "untrained" they are basically useless. How do I sort that out?

As you level up, you can assign points to those skills. To use shotgun and assault rifle most effectively, I think you have to be the soldier class. Each class has a fixed ability section so if shotgun is not available to be upgraded, you're the wrong class to use it.

Ok Cheers. When I use my sniper scope it's very juddery. Can you hold your breath or do you have to upgrade your snipers skills?

seriously good games. me1 is amazing, but me2 takes it even further and betters it (as it happens, ive just completed the second game about 20 minutes ago) what a story!

bring on me3, i cannot wait! :D

Reading this thread has got me downloading it from Steam to have another go. The title music makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
