Yes the file names both say Dx10 that’s so you cannot guess easy.

My guess is the darker one is DX10 as it looks more realistic to me.

EDIT
: Just been told the screen shots are wrong on the press CD real pics here

I know I'm going to offend but.. those graphics are appaulling.

However it just goes to show that as we get closer to more believable graphics, the power to render then goes up exponentially..

I find one of the problems with many new games are screenshots do not do them justice. The light and shadows vastly effect how games look in motion and that does not come across well screenshots.

Look at NWN 2 screenshots it often looks like a game from 2 to 3 year ago but if you play it with max light and shadows it looks stunning and really looks like a next gen game. Assuming you can get it running at a decent speed.

Interesting choice of word... appalling...

Strike with disgust or revulsion
- shock, offend, scandalize, scandalise [Brit], appall [US], outrage

Fill with apprehension or alarm;- dismay, alarm, appall [US], horrify

Take a look at the individual pieces of foliage and the intricate shadow mapping accross that scene... as well as the lighting and detail textures littering the forest. Are you telling me those graphics fit that description?

What are we comparing here? Two tiny tiny pics or two pics that are from different sources with different aspect ratios?

The full size pictures are on the main site. Probably doesnt allow hotlinking. Halfway down the page.

Looks near enough the same just with a different tint in colour. Not impressed at all.

Those Crysis screenshots are pretty impressive. Imagine where we'll be in 10 years time!! Bring on the holodecks!!

That top pic in the comparison shots (real vs fake), the one of the sea and mountains, looks a bit fake to me. Atleast the mountains do. They have a sligh 'rendered' quality to them.

Alan Wake is another game that is really supposed to push DX10. It's a Vista only game I heard. Some vids out here - http://www.alanwake.com/movies.html - looks pretty darn good.
