Mine is currently struggling to run WoW, Arma 3, OverWatch etc at high settings at 3440x1440
Well if the titles support SLI in theory you get a 70-90% performance boost as it scales pretty well, nearly double performance if the game supports SLI.

You remember wrongly then
Arma 3 will see next to no difference. It's notorious for it, performance gains in that game are largely down to cpu performance.

You temptress, I'll need to make sure I can actually afford it this month first.
You're not wrong there, my poor little i5 4690k can't handle that too well
So the founder's edition was never £620 and there weren't a few cards cheaper below £600 then? Gibbo did just say above that some cards like the Clown card, EVGA and Gigabyte G1 (which I only just about remember) were much cheaper than the founders edition. But most other cards like the usual MSI and Asus cards were at least £620. Most cards were.
And while people did complain about prices, I will admit, more of that was directed at the 1070 as opposed to the 1080. Mainly because the 970 was £350 max and the 1070 rarely fell under £400.
I'll admit, I might have been wrong about prices increasing with the GBP, but I never took notice of prices beyond release. Not trying to start an argument buddy, just trying to uncover (recent) historical info here.
You said "a few plucky cards like an EVGA and the infamous clown card fell below the £600 mark"
There were quite a few 1080's available for under £600, in fact the majority were under £600 on release...

No wonder I felt that way... the overpriced Asus Strix and MSI Gaming X cards weren't released yet! It all makes sense now. Mostly cards like the KFA2 and InnoChill though, the more recongnisable AIBs hadn't released yet or weren't on that thread.
