Masterchef...

well done Mat :) Andy looked gutted, it was quite close between the pair of them. Chris took it well, he should be proud to have made it to the final. I'm sure all three will benefit from this.

What a crappy trophy though, I've seen better at a funfair!

+1 on the chavtastic presenters - shouting all the time, everything in the superlative, its not bloody top-gear is it? or is it? As ned says above, I do enjoy it, but despite those two ('specially Torrode), not because of them.

?

Yep, I've been playing/reading too much Halo lately so I read it as Master Chief.

Watched it for the first time tonight, man that food looks good. That bald guy really likes his pudding.

Definitely. I've been to a restaurant down in Poole where the chef was a Masterchef runner-up, and it was stunning. I hope all three of them get to achieve their ambition of running their own restaurant, they seemed more closely matched than in previous years.

Hoorah! At last, a winner who actually deserved to win!! Not often that happens on these TV shows.
The rabbit dish looked amazing.
It was quite heart warming to see him fighting back the tears - personally I had a bit of dust in my eye. I've truly gone soft when Masterchef makes me emotional :(

Love the show and really pleased for Mat, Chris always seemed to be lagging behind Mat and Andy but im sure they will all do very well.

Glad to see a correct result... i still think Dean should have won it a few years back instead of that old bloke!!! (one for the long(ish) time followers)

really glad matt won it, as i think he improved the most out of all of them, and his final 3 dishes were stunning, and still in the influence of what he really liked to cook

I never really liked andy, as i though he was too arrogant, and he shot himself in the foot with the relatively uninspiring 3 dishes he produced. Chris i though was good, but was too inexperienced, a couple of years in a proper restaurant and i think he will be really good.

Can you recall the name of this restaurant?

Mat was basically offered a job in that "Noma" resturaunt, so it was win-win going in to the final for him.

That said, he totally deserved the win. The food he produced for the final cook-off was leagues ahead of the others :)

It tickled me that they kept banging on about "finesse" and "pretty", but I thought it had been fine since they first told him about it in the quarters..

Crap trophy.

Bah! Dean is now a glorified delivery rider on the crap show where they see who will win between a local takeaway and a celebrity chef.

Chris had no leadership skills, his dishes kept lacking flavour as John Torrode kept complaining, and he didn't shave below his chin(joke).

I started off not liking Andy but he did impress in the finals with leadership skills, and good dishes, only his timing letting him down on occasion.

Matt was the clear winner with original dishes and improving his presentation.

Anyone remember the guy last year who walked out when he was to serve to the table of top chefs? Hilarious.

The teenage prodigy girl from last year also, who made dishes with such ingenuity that it brought John Torrode to tears.

Wasnt that celebrity masterchef (the one with Andy Peters in) when that guy just went "**** this" and walked out in Petrus or was that just another time it happened?

and i remember there being that 19yr old girl who made mud pie with candied tarragon to look like grass is that the prodigy girl you mean?
