Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Started today, £40 in profit already from HardyBlack winning the 15:55 at Wolverhampton. Now I have to top my betfair exchange up again though :D

Edit: Is it normal to need up to £1000 in your exchange to cover liability on some high odds horse bets?

Yes, but why are you doing high odds horse bets when you've just started?

High odds horse bets are generally not a great idea anyway, if the horse wins it's an easy way to get your accounts restricted.

I'm using yesbets and betway is one of the only accounts I didn't have to start with and most of their decent profit bets are on high odds horses it seems.

Holy heck, they are some high odds! Yeah I wouldn't be dabbling in those at this stage, would be a wounder to lose all of into a bookie and have to wait X days to withdraw out and deposit back into Betfair.

It's normal for the best matches to be on extremely high horse odds but my strong advice would be don't touch them with a barge pole. I got gubbed from Boylesports when a horse won at 12/1 and since then I try my best to stick to under 10.

In the scheme of things you are only missing out on pennies by choosing a "worse" match but in the long run you'll be better off if you keep your account open longer.

If I wanted to place some mug bets on a specific event across a few bookies, would it be best to lay multiple times at the exchange or one amount that covers the lot? Hope that makes sense.

Cheers, that's what I was thinking as well :)

Yes you can lay the same outcome repeatedly and for horses; say you want to cover a few horses in the same race, you would only be liable for the most expensive horse (or highest odds/stake). This brings your overall liability down for that race which can be extremely handy. I don't think it matters but it's probably best to lay individually as the odds for the bookies might shift.

I see yesbets have now added a casino section, does Oddsmonkey have this already as I have been thinking of swapping to oddsmonkey and buying match catcher too.

This is the video Yesbets have produced https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L15snQX0DX0 does Oddsmonkey show this many casino offers? Looking at the video Yesbets have a load showing, on Oddsmonkey free account I can see casino offers but its not a big list, do more appear in the forum and do they show ev values?

So Yesbets now have a casino section.
Free if you sign up to an annual subscription, or £50 one-off fee.

I was chatting to someone on email (who gave me a referral, you know who you are ;)) and I said that this was going to happen sooner or later. It's the same with all these places, they start off well then once the taste for cash sets in they start getting greedy which is what we're seeing here. They can dress it up however they like, rounding up the casino offers really isn't that hard.

I have to say I am not that impressed by adding more paid items, I am going to sign up for match catcher, yesbets matching is nowhere good enough for racing, last night it took a good 4 minutes to get the right odds on a horse to show on the site.

I am looking at doing match catcher and oddsmonkey going forward.

TO be honest match catcher has its issues. The other day it just refused to update a horses odds on Coral. Was top of the list for a good 20 minutes despite the fact the odds had dropped from 2.37 to 2.25 and so it was now an awful match.

Doesn't help that the odds for horses generally over the last few days have been crap

It uses a separate log in to normal PA so I assume you can have it on its own.

Just noticed they are doing a similar thing to Yesbets with their casino section - if you buy a year of match catcher up front you get free access to PAs accumulator software whenever it comes out.. If I got that separately aswell then I would be over £30 p/m. PA Sam must absolutely rake it in..

I don't see the issue, I joined their casino section and it's clear a lot of work has gone into it, you can refine to find your chance of making a profit and of completing an offer, ie my attitude to risk. I've just run 2 casino offers that I've received from the bookies via email and it tells me they're worth -£6.76 and £3.27 respectively... So both not great but nice to be able to check. It's more than just a list of offers and you don't need to pay if you don't want to.

Maybe I don't mind as much because I also made £25 on the willy hill Vegas offer so overall only £25 down with a lot more offers to go.

Guess I am a little upset that its come from nowhere, I have spoken with them about not having the casino offers and they said it was coming, no mention of a charge, they haven't even emailed details of it out to members, or given access to one or two offers free to actually test it.

On Facebook they have said that it has £1570 in signup bonuses and 270 free spins and then reloads on top of that which are added daily, I would be interested to know from anyone with Oddsmonkey how many casino offers are available on the site?

I think that's a really good point... I would feed it back to them. I have to say of all the company's I've dealt with they've been really top notch. I've always dealt with markisat and Daryl and I'm guessing that they are the founders, they seem really receptive to feedback, don't take it personally and have helped me at some crazy times of the day when I've screwed something up. I think a trial of a couple of offers would help them sell it as you say as you could then see how
Much more it is than just a list of offers. It's not polished yet by any means but I can see the value of the data behind it and making long term profits.
