Found out just before that my mate had an off earlier today and unfortunately was killed :(. He had a pillion who's now in hospital with broken ribs, not sure who she was though, I don't think it was his daughter.

Sounds like his front end washed out and he hit a barrier..

Stay safe out there on the roads guys, really brings it all home when you find out one of your mates has died.

My missus was friends with him and knew him when she was in Northwest bikers, very sad. Silver lining is it wasnt his daughter on the back.

Yeah, just found out this morning who the pillion was. Glad it wasn't his daughter, but still terrible non the less.

Haven't been able to stop thinking about it all morning :(.

Who is your missus by the way? I've been a member of NWB for a long time now, although haven't been out with them much as of late due to work.

Any idea what caused the front to wash out could it of been melted tar on the road from the heat or something else?

Hah, yeah unfortunately that has been garaged up since about January back in Germany, it needs to get brought back over here. Wish it was, then try and get back for a memorial ride out.
 
I've only been on NWB for a couple of weeks but Martin seemed a popular bloke across many forums. Just seen the video, he had one hell of a send off!

So sorry to hear it m8. I know its a cliche but I know exactly how you feel after being through a similar situation a good few years back which I posted about here at the time. Unfortunately I was present at the time when my mate died as I tried my level best to save him but he had basically been killed almost instantly at the point of impact. He was a paramedic, I am a firefighter. Rather ironic some would say.

It's just awful but time really is a good healer and it gets a little easier as the years roll on. Until the date of the incident comes around again and then......well, it's not so easy.

RIP to your m8 and yes indeed - lets ride safe out there guys.
 
Just watched the video. Awesome. I'm sure Martin was looking down proud and smiling. Credit to his friends that he had such an awesome send off.

My mate was taken on his final journey by a Hayabusa hearse. ;)
