mate needs some help trying to setup 2 monitors

hi,

a mate has got hold of a 17" tft and wants to connect it to his system so his main screen will game and the new one will hold msn, is it possible ?

gfx card is a 7600gt and both monitors are hooked up with video on both, not sure how you jump between the 2 etc and what sort of config might be needed.

"extend desktop" in display properties.

Right click desktop->nVidia Control Panel
Then find the option to "Run multiple display wizard", will talk you through it all

tried the wizard and he says:

the only thing it has the option to do is clone the screen and stretch it

double checked with him any settings and reckons just offers to change the res and clone/stretch.

says he cant find extended display, told him to have another gander.

progress report

There was an option in nvidia control panel called Nview, told it to keep his taskbar on my main screen let him use the res he wanted.

see if he can switch the taskbar to his 2nd screen and he should be sorted
