Well my mates Tagan TG580-U22 580W exploded with a load of block smoke. He needs a new one asap. What would you guys recommend with a good warranty and which can power this spec:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 cpu
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 motherboard
GeIL 4GB ram
Ati HD 4850 512MB GDDR3
Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB
Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7200S 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter

He has around £50-£70 to play with. I havn't been able to take a look at his PC yet but is it possible that anything else could have gone down with the PSU?

Well I'm going to ring ocuk tomorrow to see if i can get free sat delivery ;)

Any other suggestions or is the Corsair the best bet?

IMO, go for anything out of a Corsair, Be Quiet, Seasonic, or PCP&P. Although if you do go Corsair, I'd be wary of the 620W Corsair Modular PSU. Can't talk from personal experience, but of every single failed Corsair PSU I've read about, it seems to be the 620W modular. Whether that's just because they're popular, I don't know, and there's no doubt Corsair do make quality PSU's, just pointing that out.

I went for the OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w in the end. 3-year “power swap” warranty was what swung it :D
