Matrix chat servers for tech and open source

i keep meaning to set one up with everything else :/ one day i will.
by all accounts its not bad, i remember some contraversery over data leakage, and default settings but i think thats all sorted now.

https://jitsi.org/ was the alternative i was looking at as well.

i was never able to get in to IRC :/ wish i had but boats past now.

there seems to be a lot of love for https://www.rocket.chat/ when i do searchs about Matrix.

It's not dying at all. You just have to know where to go.

If you look into The Lounge Chat there is a web/server client available for IRC. :)

I mean I use Libre Chat mainly because Freenode died. I used IRCCloud but not sure I want to shell out £50 a year for IRC and running a bouncer seems like more hassle than it is worth at this point.
