Which of the above do I need to download and install from here for optimal RAID0 settings of 2 x Crucial M225 64GB SSDs?

Or is it both?

Rapid Storage Technology 9.5 is the new version of Matrix Storage Manager 8.9. Basically in moving its RAID drivers/software from 8.x to 9.x, Intel have changed the name.

However, there are two things to note

a) Rapid Storage Technology has not been officially released by Intel, so is not yet supported. If you want official, supported drivers you are better off downloading direct from Intel. The version at station-drivers is a leaked driver, and may differ slightly from the official version when Intel releases it.

b) neither version passes TRIM - so apart from a prettier UI, it is doubtful you'll seen any substantial difference between Rapid Storage Technology and Matrix Storage Manager.

Have used this website for a number of years to download Intel chipset and Matrix Storage Manager drivers and never have any problems with them.

If you look at each item it is listed as either "officiel" or "non officiel," the "officiel" would be the same as that from the Intel site, the "non-officiel" because it is in development could be different from the final version released by Intel solely because it is in development, so if in doubt, simply use the version marked "officiel".

I did try the "Rapid Storage Technology" version, but found the performance of my SSDs were down, so used 8.9.2.1002 which restored it...

This particular website might be trustworthy, and you are right - they do indicate the provenance of their drivers. However, as a general rule, it is far safer to download drivers direct from the provider rather than via a third party.

It is quite possible that the Rapid Storage Technology version is a development version with debugging code or unoptimised code still present.

In general I would be in full agreement with this, however, in the case of the Intel website, their download section is not the easiest to get what you want, especially drivers/software for the ICHx(R) cont., hence why I use "station-drivers."
