Matrix style coats.

Ive seen about 3 different people wearing these coats in my local town. It makes me ashamed to live there really, dont they realise people laugh at them !

Because they like it.
Iv always wondered, do they actually like them, i mean they must be pumping sweat in them some days when you see them. Sun blaring and everyones in t-shirts.

Or do they wear them because they 'think' it gives them a certain image? Do they think they look original or unique or hard etc.

seen a lot of people wearing these and actualy walking in public which i think is kind of brave hahahah, i know for a fact i would'nt be seen wearing one unless it was some sort of fancy dress party and even then i would feel like an idiot wearing it, id rather dress up as a smurf :D

Surely they're the same, they like the image therefore they buy the coat.

It's certainly not an original image, depending on what else they wear it could be unique.

The question really is "Can you pull off a full length leather coat/jacket"?
I own a three quarter length black leather jacket/coat and it seems to suit me.
My wife bought it for me, she thinks it looks good and I enjoy wearing it.
I tried on a full length jacket and it simply didn't work, however the same was the case with the half length, it just didn't work as well as the three quarter.
My brother can only get away with "standard/half length" jackets of any material, again he just doesn't seem to suit anything else.

A friend of mine has a full length leather jacket and it looks perfect on him, it suits him to the ground and I canot imagine him in anything shorter.

I've got plenty of friends who haven't taken the time to really see what they look like in half, three quarter and full length and in my opinion haven't made the right choice.
Only certain people can pull the full length ones off - I know I'm not one of them.

Saw a few people in these in Glasgow, usually semi-goths but the most amusing thing is they're almost always fat chaps who frankly the coat doesn't really hang off of, it sort of bends around them and they look absolutely laughable!

*confesses* I have one although i've had it for YEARS (before the matrix existed) and i'm kinda tall and skinny, so it doesn't look too bad.
I just wear it with my work clothes - dark shart/tie and black trousers, so it actually looks reasonably smart.
I also only wear it when it's cold + wet, and although i do get the occasional comment, I can't help but smirk back at them when I mention the fact that they are getting soaked while i'm nice and warm and dry XD

I have a trenchcoat. Don't wear it very often (It's usually too hot), and it's not leather. It's like the ones you see detectives wearing in movies :p

I have a long coat for the winter but it can backfire.

Last Christmas I walked into a pub wearing it and couple that with having tipped hair and a blustery night and some bloke thought I was the lead singer of Kajagoogoo ....

I am not morally against anyone wearing a good winter coat, these guys wear them rain, wind or shine, from temperatures of minus 10 to +30 :p

they wear them because its actually the source of all neo l33t powers that why none of them looked ashamed and embarrassed because they know how to kill ppl with a strand of hair:D

I thought I'd throw my two penneth in here jut cos there are a lot of ***** out there who don't seem to grasp the difference between lookin good in films and lookin good in real life. Neo and Morpheus and Spike (Buffy) all look unbelievably cool and slick and everythin these people want to be but in the same way you can't actually free your mind and jump skyscrapers, you dont look good in trench coats.

End of.

I was on an Island when I saw someone who was Too Shy to buy his own beer. I thought Hang on Now and suggested we get On A Plane to somewhere else that he found more comfortable. We went to The Big Apple (New York), got in a taxi and I thought to myself "This Car is Fast" as we drove into town. As we arrived at a pub I admired the Ergonomics of the layout.

We got drinks, he had a short which was warm. They put ice in it but it was so warm that the temperature was Melting The Ice Away :(, but I have the Power To Forgive and didn't shout at the barman.
