HI. I've got a Matrox G550 (i know it's old). Fresh install of XP sp3 with a dell 20" E207WFP.

I've upgraded to the latest Bios (on graphics card) from matrox website, tried the latest driver, and the latest WQL verified driver, but none seem to have the resolution 1680x1050 on DVI (even if i show modes the monitor doesn't support).

Is there a company like Omega does for ATI cards? that does separate drivers for Matrox cards??

Otherwise anyone have any suggestions?

OK tried both utilities,
the Matrox Tweak utility, although opens fine and applies the resolution fine, they still don't come up in the display settings.

The Power Desk one errors when i open it saying it can't access the registry (I've got the proper software latest version isntaleld and have all administrator rights).

might have to switch to VGA :-(

OK so i switched to VGA, same problem.

Any other way people can think of to add the widescreen resolutions to this card?? I know it can handle it becuase 1600x1200 is an option, and i've seen people do it in linux.

Had the same problem.

We use these cards at work. I'm really not sure where I got the driver from but make sure you are installing the following version...

G550.inf = Matrox G550 Series, version 5.96.004

You can find this by opening up the MtxSetup.ini, should be the first few lines. If not uninstall the driver, download the version above (Type the version number into google) then download and install.

I tried that driver just now (even though it says PCIe and mine's AGP). didn't work. PowerDesk resolution manager couldn't access registry still and Matrox Tweak utility couldn't apply the new resolution.

Are you using it on DVI or VGA? I've tried both and they both show the same resolutions :-(.

is it my Monitor? IT's a dell E207WFP but i don't see that being an issue as al i'm trying to get is its native resolution./

Am i gonna have to by a different card?
