Matte finish PS3

Just noticed on a few sites that the PS3 that comes in the GTA and Gran Turismo bundles is matte finish. Does anyone have one of these yet. I was just wondering if it looks much worse/different than the shiny one?

It's just the silver strip at the front, nothing big really.

no - i have seen pictures of the matte finish model - its like a charcoal grey colour

i will try and find a link...

saw it on anandtech a while ago - looks nice for sure (it is all over not just a strip) but prefer black

I have an original 60GB US model and a "matt finish" 40GB PAL machine and the only difference is the silver strip at the front.

thats what the link says - but it is the only matte finish model i have seen

either way - i look at my screen when i am playing so the console itself could be the colour of sick for all i care - as long as it does its job properly!

cool - well the gunmetal limited edition is the only matte model i have seen online then - *echoes my last post again*

that gunmetal one is bloody beautiful but with the PS3's push for media centre status, more and more people will be plugging these in underneath there main telly in the lounge or whatever (and gloss black will match the vast majority of TVs these days) so i can't honestly see other colours being a bit hit no matter how cool they look... gloss black just goes with most other stuff people have...
