Yeah, i'd give them a phone and change it to Vista x64. 
As for the motherboard, well, the P5B-VM blows chunks, to put it nicely. It's a semi-decent board if you're not overclocking, but is nowhere near as stable or good as the Asrock Conroe 945G-DVI or the Abit F-I90HD for the prices.
I would send that back too and get either of the boards mentioned above, or the P5K-VM, or the Gigabyte G33M-DS2R.
