mATX- Node 804

Really nice build so far and I love the matx form factor.

But I am super worried about temps with 4 GPUs and a CPU on 360mm of rad space, I have a single GPU and CPU on 600mm of radiator and it still is quite warm at times.

Just to confirm its on 2 x 120.1, 1 x 140.1 and 1 x 240.1 so 620mm of radiator in total. And I have a cunning plan to fit another 120.1 or 140.1 in if required!

Do you have a mock up of your rad placements?
Im downsizing to mATX and would like the option to WC with 2x 120.2 rads where/if possible whilst keeping the case as small as possible.
Ive had a look at the Air 240 but apparantly it can't support 2 120.2 rads, and the node 804 is the closest in comparison.
 
on the PSU side of the case you could fit a 120.2 in the front or a 140.2 in the roof (check max rad hight tho! as not all will fit).. on the MB side you can fit 120.2 in the front.. I don;t think you would have enough clearance to do the roof.. and you also want to measure GPU length as long GPU won't fit with the 120.2 in the front of the case.

Nice pussy mate. I'm a Bengal and Burmese man myself.

Now to the point, I saw a nice review of the case on Youtube where he suggested you could mount HDDs on the bottom of the case using the Fractal cage. Since I popped another 3 HDDs in my Define R3 I am now wondering if you could put the cages ABOVE and BELOW and with an extra cage (courtesy of Fractal's parts dept) put a total of 12 HDDs in there.

I dont know anyone with this case who could measure or photograph. I'm guessing the issue would be where the two sets of HDDs meet (cabling) and on cooling the bottom set.

Hope you can help.

I'm looking into a watercooled mATX build myself, and this case is very likely to be the one I'll be using so I'll be following this build closely. :)

I'll be going for a SLI set up, which somewhat limits my choice of Z97 motherboards. I've found 4 which support SLI; Asus, Gigabyte and MSI (red and black) and Asrock (the likely winner with yellow and black).

Like you, I'm thinking hard line tubing is the way to go with this case (best order myself about 100 metres as I've never used it before :p), as getting flexible hose to play nice and look good in such a small space may be difficult. I've seen one Youtube video review where the guy had 2 x 240s at the front of the case and the pump & res in the back compartment next to the PSU, this will likely be the way I'll be going.

It's been a while since the last update, interested to see how this turns out. I've got the same case but have only wc the cpu for now.
 
sorry for the total lack of updates on this one!!

Run my own business which has gone mental over the past 3 months (which isn't a bad thing!) and have been spending time with the kids and on the aquarium when I have had the odd moment..

Placed an order yesterday for the final parts I need to finish plus a new monitor (here) so hope to finish this off over the next week!
 
Love how the build is looking! I have a Node 804 myself and it's a great little case. Only thing I wish they did was flip the PSU mount so the PSU would be on its side - it could have been a little narrower. It's not a big case at all but it's certainly 'chunky'.

Quick Update.. Rig is up and running (after some argument!!).. gone with normal tubing for now as bending the hardline is going to take an age and I simply don't have time at the moment.. will get some pictures up shortly..

Good News is with everything at stock CPU under prime95 warmest core is hitting a mild 45c... and running Heaven Benchmark.. the four GPU cores are pretty much even at 42c - 44c.. got some family bits and bobs today but will get some pictures / screen shots up later.
 
So a couple of pictures... still need to sort the fan on the top and side.. and set the front rads to exhaust air but haven't had the chance! needs a bit of cable tidy up... been too busy with my business, kids, playing the odd game when I get a chance!

What's the reasoning for extra fans, airflow problems? I've been considering this case for a WC build also.
 
Basically Yes!

CPU is running @ 4.8ghz and therefore under load the VRM are working pretty hard and getting quite warm with limited airflow... after an hour or so of the GPU's being at full load am also getting some static hot air around them as well so fan on the side panel is just going to help that airflow.

Tbh it doesn't need it.. but I am a bit anal when it comes to temperatures. Given the amount of heat the loop is pumping out (two O/C over-volted 7990 and a 3930K @ 4.8) the case is doing a good job.

I think the case is great for WC builds if a bit tight..

Just got to find the time to mod the top and side panel before I put it all back together
