Max out AM4 or enter AM5 ?

Thanks all for the recommendations so far. If i looked at a new/used set of 32gb RAM should i get 3600mhz over 3200mhz ? do latency timings matter ?
As has already been said, either will work fine.

There is an extensive DDR4 OC guide that I’ll post - it’s really cool and will let you get that extra bit of performance out of your system without spending extra money.

I’ve seen a very nice uplift by improving RAM OC and buying expensive RAM makes no sense.

I agree with the others that upgrading to a 5700X3D is the best option and I see you’ve done so, it makes sense.

Edit: this guide here https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md

Also true :D what would be a reasonable performance jump from an RTX 3070 ?
a meaningful upgrade would be one that gives you a +50% gain on gpu performance. that would be something that costs in the region of £500 or more if buying new, unfortunately
if you are buying new, that means a 5070, and i would happily pair that 5700x3d with a 5070
(4070 super/7900GRE if you are going to go used)
