Looking to get a bit more power out of my 980 but at the moment msi afterburner will only go to 110% power.

Ive read that most 980's can go to 125%.

What do i need to gwt it to 125%? Is it juat a bios flash?

Currently running

+87mva
+170 core
+450 memory

Booat clock is 1549mhz and hit 55c under peak load

Are you hitting the power limit and seeing clocks fluctuate? If not then you're not going to see any gains from increasing the power limit. Tbh at that clock you're at the point of diminishing returns i.e. more voltage for very little gain (1-2 fps)

I can bench at 1.3v at 1593/8300 on both cards but for gaming I keep my cards at 1.25v at 1506/8000.

Been looking and apparantly the g1 gaming edition can go to 122%.

That buos should be find on my standard windforce shouldnt it?

You need to check what your base clock is. if it is already OC from the stock clock (1127MHz) out of the box, then the TDP will be used up from that clock.

As I understand it, Maxwell has a fixed TDP

what make and model is it?

Mine only goes up to 109 as it is clocked in the box to 1266MHz/1367MHz

However my OC's up to 1575 are all stock voltages and power.... If I try to increase power target it does not make much difference other than kill the drivers, same with voltages.

You could post in the 980's thread and they have a load of helpful people who will help you mod the bios, if you so wish. :)

looks like i wont be doing this then.

GPUZ crashes the pc as soon as i try to back the bios and nvflash crashes also when turning protection off

Sounds like you have an old gpu-z and the incorrect nvflash.

nope tried about 3 different versions of gpu-z all of them crash the PC.

have got it running at 1599mhz core & 7,948mhz memory now and it only runs at 80% tdp 55c so probably wouldn't make much difference anyway.
