Im trying to get the max out of my q660, and starting to overclock more than the guide for 3.3ghz, ive managed to get upto 3.6hz, but as soon as I run prime 95 in vista it crashes (obviously wrong settings)
Ive got the ip35 pro xe board
At the moment ive got it upto 3.4 running stable 55c max temp
Heres the list of my settings in bios atm:

CPU:

External Clock: 378mhz
Multiplier: 9
DRAM Speed: 1:1.25 (DDR2 - 945)
PCI Express: 105mhz

VOLTAGES:

CPU Core: 1.4750
DDR2: 2.300
CPU VTT: 1.27
MCH 1.25V: 1.37
ICH 1.05V: 1.15
ICH10 1.5V: 1.55
DDR2 Referance: 0%
CPU GTLREF 0&2: 67%
CPU GTLREF 1&3: 67%

RAM:

CAS Latency: 5
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
RAS# Precharge: 5
Precharge Delay: 15
Rest of settings in this page set to auto
PCI compliancy mode: v1.0a
PEG FORCE x1: DISABLED
Init Display 1st: PCIEx

I have a VID of 1.3250

Anything else I might need to change as well?

I know I can get more out of this as well, as ive seen on another forum someone managed to get 4.1ghz out of his q660!! (i think he had a low VID though)

EDIT NOT completely stable with these settings above as I just had a BSOD error after running prime 95 for around 30 mins

Im running 3.55Ghz and that is maxing my RAM out (im only on PC2-6400 ram). That idles on 36oC however. I cant get mine any higher than 3.55Ghz. If you want to get it further then try upgrading your RAM to 1066Mhz RAM and try again.

My god, what's with all those tweaks for a simple overclock. You've done way more than me to overclock less than mine.

CPU:
PCI Express: 105mhz <- why? Leave alone.

VOLTAGES:
CPU Core: 1.4750 <- too high for 3.4gig. It should be managing that at 1.4v. If it already needs that much your chip has no hope of getting stable 3.6 imo.
DDR2: 2.300 <- too much! 2.1 or 2.2v max at the timings you've set. Run memtest86+ and find out what is stable for you.
CPU VTT: 1.27
MCH 1.25V: 1.37 <- fine, quads need a little boost.
ICH 1.05V: 1.15 <- You don't need to touch this
ICH10 1.5V: 1.55 <- Nor this.

RAM:

CAS Latency: 5
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
RAS# Precharge: 5
Precharge Delay: 15
All fine, quite relaxed timings really.
