Hi all, just a quick question really.

I bank with Natwest and need to withdraw a large(ish) amount of cash out, does anyone know if they have a withdraw limit if you go in and get the money out over the counter?

I know the machiines will have a limit of between £250 and £350 per day, but will I be able to withdraw however much I want out if I go into branch? Or is there a limit in place there too?

Thanks.

Depends how much, I guess. Talking about several grand or more than 400? I took £2,000 out from Barclays without any fuss, they didn't even request ID which was a tad worrying.

I took out £2200 from a BOS branch with no questions asked. Didn't like walking about in an unfamiliar city with it in my pocket though!

Most have a limit of around 2500-3000 for a branch withdrawal without advance notice. But if you plead ignorance and say you 'really really need it right now' they can bend the rules for you. :D

Phone a branch and ask. We will only give out £500 without prior notice. 24 hours for £800. The ATM should also give you between £200 and £300 depending on the bank. Withdrawal limits might be on the website, but most banks have a 24 hour phone number these days.

Took out a couple of grand from natwast branch recently, and the lady said that chip and pin can withdraw 5k without question at the teller. 500 for natwest atm though.
