I've trawled the net for an answer to this, and I can't find any info'.

Does anyone know what is the maximum recommended temperature for a nforce2 IGP northbridge?

I have a SFF system with this chip, and SiSoft SANDRA reports the IGP is overheating. Underload I can reach temp's up to 57C, and at idle about 49C.

I will appreciate any help!

Many thanks,

Michael

I would'nt really worry about it unless it's causing you problems mate, have you thought of using an aftermarket cooler on it ? Zalman NB coolers are very good ;)

Yes, I do have an occasional stability problem, and would like to determine whether it is related to the NB temp'. I'm only alerted to this, on the basis of SiSoft SANDRA indicating it is overheating. I can't find any other info' at all.

Thanks for the suggestion, although I have a Zalman 47mm NB cooler ready to fit. It is larger than the stock cooler, so I will surely reduce the temp', but I'm really after a reduction in fan noise AND keeping within recommended temp's. My system is used as a media center, so low noise within recommended temp's is what I'm after!

But, I just don't know what the recommend temp' is!

Many thanks,

Michael
