Maximum POE IP camera run?

Just so you know, that swtich doesn't have PoE ports. It can be powered via PoE, but not dish it out.
 
Ah,I thought that was a POE out switch.

How about a NETGEAR GS108PE-300EUS?

Says 45W so over 10W per channel out?

Should power a camera with no issues over 30/40m of cat5e?
 
Before you buy a PoE switch check the standard of PoE used by the camera's, getting it wrong will be expensive and annoying.

I've been looking at Hikvision cameras,they generally say PoE powered and leave it at that.
What should I be looking for?
 
They'll hopefully be 802.3af or 802.3at.

There's also a chance they could use a proprietary passive system. If that’s the case a PoE switch won’t work.
 
Good thinking,definitely a better starter option for me to get a single camera up and running.
I didn't know wether to start with the switch or the camera but I think I'll start with an injector instead.

From the spec:

Power Supply: 12 VDC ± 10%, PoE (802.3af)
Power Consumption: Max. 5.5 W (Max. 7.5 W with IR cut filter on)

So 0.625A when the IR lamp is on? PoE is normally described in Watts?

DS-2CD2335-I is the model.
