Maxtor 200gb Sata question

Hi

Sorry had a read through the sticky but im still scratching my head on the sata thing (first time ever using it). Building up a new system E6600 on a SD3 Gigabyte mobo and am about to install the Maxtor 200gb Sata 3.0gb HDD when i noticed a small jumper on back with two settings:

SATA 1.50gb/s Mode Setting and the other J4 (Partial) (thats where jumper pin is on straight from box)

So is this jumper setting correct or should it be on the Sata 1.5gb pins? Am only using the one harddrive. Thanks for the help and your time.

On that board the jumper should be set to enable SATAII mode (3Gbps).

The limit to SATA 150 option is intended for motherboards that don't support SATA 300 (2), yours does so there is no problem

OK cheers guys thanks. Ive another build on atm (same HDD) and it doesnt use SataII 3gbs so I'll have to swap that jumper over onto the 1.5gb setting then.

Swapped it over booted up and after messing about getting drivers installed finally got XP installed ... one build down... one build to go
