i have been advised not to go near one of these can some one report of known problems (bought one 1 hour before the advice)
maxtor 500gb IDE drives

well i nerver - -- just rebooted the maxtor now the c: drive has gone and no fat i have just had to reformat and am reloading as to copy the D: partition onto a seagate as we speak
These drives are great if u dont value you data wanna lose evething get into a mega argument with the wife for spending too much time trying to fix
So thanks maxtor due to stress i now look like that captain picard from startrek rapid accute hairloss
Now what were you all saying about wd samsung and seagate
rma should be rewrote as aud = (send me) another useless drive
