Maxtor 6V250F0?

Does anyone have any opinions or problems with the 250gb Maxtor 6V250F0 drive?

I'm looking at this vs the Samsung 250gb but I've read loads of bad stuff on the Maxtor with it not supporting Nvidia NF4 chipsets and the like. Liked the idea of the 16mb buffer tho'

Anyone got any useful input please?

I have this drive. When i first recieved it it wouldn't format, but after trying a second time it worked perfect, but then it stopped been detected on boot-up 50% of the time. I thought i'd RMA it, but found out there was a firmware update by Maxtor to solve this issue with NF4 motherboards. I got the firmware from them (after 4 emails!) and now it works perfectly.

But given the choice, i think next time im looking for a HDD i will go with another manufacturer.
