I have a B-Grade Maxtor 750GB USB drive that I purchased from OcUK a couple of months ago.
No problems at all, except the included backup[ software isn't very good.
IMO there's no difference in reliability between any HD manufacturer. Occasionally one manufacturer will have a bad batch and for some people that tarnishes them for life.
