Maxtor HDD Died!!

Hey OCUK crew

Today in my office PC my Maxtor 80Gb HDD died with no type of warning at all I turned on the PC and it just looped through the windows safe mode screen, Ive taken the HDD out and put it in an USB external encloure to retrive the docs/images etc but all this does is crash my main PC when pluged in

Anybody got any ideas? Ive got some quite important stuff I could do without loosing

That's normal, for a Maxtor.
To fail that is

If it's the work PC why don't you have the documents on the server too?

Yep sure is squiffy thats 2 Maxtors in 1yr now! Good job ive got WD in my main rig

Sorry for the confusion the office PC is at home, Most of the time I work from home (A lot more relaxing ) plus I also use this to store all my photographs on etc. I have backups from 4/5wks ago but havent backed up since then


Looks like this is a lesson from now on to backup twice a week
