Hi

I have a Maxtor Dioamondmax 10 250gb SATA drive that my Abit AV8 will not detect - I have x2 other maxtor SATA dirves which the mobo detects fine.

I have tried the drive in a chanitech mobo and it detects it fine!

I have upgraded the mobo bios to latest version and changed cables with no success.

I am now considering buying a PCI SATA card to solve thjis - any toher thoughts?

The AV8 Manual is pretty poor to be honest, there's absolutely nothing about configuring the RAID controller

Does the drive spin up OK when it's attached to your PC?

How do you access the RAID BIOS on your board?

Hi

The drive does spin up - but you can only access the raid bios if the board detects a drive! Bit of a chicken and egg situation.

However I have used another smaller sized maxtor on the SATA connction and it spotted this fine - however even with both connected it did not recognise the bigger one.
