So what? She says she wants a better system, how about we wait and see what system is proposed before everyone gets up in arms over things, oh wait, that's not going to sell papers or get website clicks/the mob riled up is, my bad.

The country has lost it's mind over the brexit thing.

I love the fact that the one thing Pro-Brexit parties and followers harped on about was a point based system....

To all the Brexit people... Do you feel lied to now?

"Oh no! Not the points-based immigration system! I really wish I'd have voted to remain in the EU now."

That's what the OP wants people to say right?

To all the Brexit people... Do you feel lied to now?

No, because the referendum was about whether the UK should remain in or Leave the EU, not about which immigration system we should use. Quite simple really.

No,See we were all been lied too for so long anyway by our government so we should pretty much be use to it now.

The fact remains,Brexit is real..and its going ahead...no second referendum just because the "Remainers" didn't get their way.

The EU cannot justify any stance on immigration. Their recent idea has been disastrous for many tens of thousands or more EU citizens.

Little project may be ending within 5years anyway.

It's not worth people getting worked up until they see what else is on the table. A points system is still not that useful without a cap on numbers - either as a whole or by sector.

As long as the system proposed is fair and attracts quality that we need, what's the problem?

All a points based system is is a method of allowing anyone with enough points to enter. It does not address limits based on demand which is what is required.

A more granular system will need to be developed which addresses the needs of the country, industry and allows the government of the day to determine who they wish to allow in and who to restrict for whatever reason. I believe that this approach is what Mrs May wishes to legislate.

No policy was fixed during the referendum. This is what is being produced now.

This. Wait it out and see. At the moment everyone in politics has their head so far in the sand that the Chinese are wondering about new fauna. Things like this are processes that take time, wait it out and let those you elected sort it out.

I'm an EU national who's been here 10 years too

A points-based system was always a stupid idea. I'm not surprised it hasn't lasted long. I'll be interested to see how far May is willing to go with trashing the UK economy in pursuit of lower immigration figures.

I feel a little cheated however I'll wait and see what she proposes. What she decides and how she does it, decides whether I vote Labouror or conservatives.

I'm all for immigration, just not an open door policy like before. There needs to be limits, otherwise you'll get what's happened by not processing properly. It's not rocket science.
