Maybe An Opportunity For An Amateur Photographer?

Hi guys,
I don't know if this would be deemed as 'cheeky' or damn right rude but i wondered if anyone would like to come and take some landscape pics for me?
I am an ex-photography hobbyist which is why I know about this forum and know there are some excellent amateurs that would possibly want to add some photos to their portfolio. I would like you to take pictures of a very good looking golf course and i could arrange for your own transport around the course using a buggy to find which ever shots you would like to take.
These pictures would be used on our website with, of course, full credit to you and maybe a link to your website? I could also arrange a day of golf for you and 3 friends with breakfast and a meal afterwards should you wish.
Again, i know this sounds cheeky but i think this could possibly work both ways?
The golf club is in Stoke on Trent.
Regards
FP

No worries mate. I'd hope it would be a nice day out for someone. The golf alone for 4 people is worth £140 per round. You could get 36 holes in easy over a day in the summer. Plus food included. I'm just putting the feelers out there and don't want to insult anyone by not offering money as such.

Trentham Park Golf Club mate. Our website is totally lacking good quality images. I redid the website last year and basically dragged it from an early mid 90s site to a reasonably up to date wordpress site. I'm not happy with it so have recommended they have the site professionally done. But with that we need some damn good images. Which is why i'm posting here.

I don't want to sound deliberately obtuse, but to the Golf Club itself, giving away the green fees for a round of Golf for four people costs them nothing. Further to that, with restaurant food, its of course marked up, so again its not costing them too much to provide you with a meal.

So while they are 'paying' you something, its not costing them much to do so. Hence my original point about the Directors of this Golf Club being cheap, yet they want photos to sell their business.

I'm just 'testing the water' as a fellow forum user. In know way should this thread reflect on any of the Directors.

Well lets turn this on its head, how much would you expect to be pid for the job?

I think it's a very fair offer being a golfer myself especially if your green fees are covered for the entire day. That's an easy 27/36 holes for yourself and 3 mates plus dinner. Can't be much fairer than that but I guess it's how much you value your work at?

I thought it could possibly be a good job for an AMATEUR photographer wanting to build his/her portfolio. I realise its going to be tough finding an amateur photographer into golf! Especially local. Which is why i have agreed to pay traveling costs to the right person.

That demonstrates just how poor and cheap the offer is from your company. They are a business who will be using their website and subsequently the photos on it to generate income from people coming to play their golf course, become new members, or dine at their restaurant and more than likely they offer catering services for functions and weddings and such. As such, a couple of grand is nothing.

When the directors/board of your company have a leak, do they get a plumber in? Or a friend of a friend with a plunger?

In this day and age, the way most golf clubs are at the minute, the friend with a plunger works just as well ;) However, i probably wouldn't sort a leak with a plunger :/

I think you are missing the point.

You want professional photos to market a business, but you don't want to pay for them. The reason you are asking for an Amateur is for that very reason, you are cutting out the people who actually make a living from Photography and whom you should be employing to do so to get the best for your business.

From the sounds of it, you are involved in the website side of things of this business. Would your employers get rid of you if I was to tell them they could get a student to make a website for them, rather than paying, because, you know... might look good on your portfolio.

I'm not missing any kind of point Nexus. I think your possibly missing mine. I don't know if your purposefully trolling my thread. I already have a number of offers via trust. So it obviously seems appealing to some. If it doesn't sound appealing to you then please stay out of the thread.
Kind regards
FP

Thats fair enough Rojin. To stop the thread going bad i'm going to close it. Anyone who's interested please contact me via trust.
Regards

Edit: Looks like I can't close it. Let the trolling continue :P

Again Nexus. I am not asking for a pro photographer. I am asking for someone who has a vested interest in landscape photography. And, in turn for that I am willing to sort them a very good day out for him and 3 friends.
I DO understand what your point is. Which is why I said in my first post that people could possibly take it as me being 'cheeky' or 'damn right rude'
