Mayhems Dyes

I'm soon going to be installing my first proper watercooling equipment and quite like the looks of the The Mayhems dyes. They recommend the use of a Silver Kill Coil or similar. Is this pretty much essential?

you only need one if your coolant does not have stuff already in it to kill the nasties.

mayhems premixes (aurora/x1/pastel) dont require a coil.

I believe I'm getting some of the bog standard Mayhems Ultra Pure water with it so I guess I could just buy a bottle of the dye and a bottle of biocide?

essentially yes, although anti-corrosive additive isnt a bad idea

with biocide you need to make sure you add the right amount as it can make the coolant acidic iirc.

I personally use x1/pastel because im lazy
