So the fight is almost upon is...whats your predictions for the fight? According to a lot of people this could be one fight Mayweather loses.

Alvarez is as good as him in every aspect and younger...but as cocky as Mayweather is, he is extremely smart...

Alvarez is a huge welterweight, I can't help but feel that him draining down to 152 will have a big impact on his performance. Saying that though, I don't see an 'easy' victory for Mayweather, I think Alvarez will do a bit better then Cotto and give Mayweather a good fight. If he gets one of his big shots through Mayweathers guard.. who knows. Looking forward to it, plus with Garcia v Mattyhse on the undercard it means it's one of the best fight nights in a long time!

Very true. I think we havent seen the best of Alvarez yet too. but Mayweather fighting him now rather then in a year or so when Alvarez is at his peak could be smart thinking. I think as good as Mayweather defense is, he is getting older, saw it to many times before.

But Mayweather is very smart, dont think he is a great boxer like Ali, foreman, etc, he just works out weaknesses quicker then most and goes of that I believe.

The dad as usual will be at the MGM watching the fight. He's an ex trainer so he knows his stuff and I follow boxing well.

Mayweather will not loose. Did you see the adrien broner fight recently? Boxing is policitcs. Mayweather has a contract with showtime. Do you think Mayweather would sign and extend his contract to fight at 37 if he planned on retiring with a loss? Mayweather will win. He knows how to win, he is smarter, experienced and has the skill. He has beaten 20 world champions, Alvarez has not. The way Alvarez will win is by a knockout - if that happens fair play, if not, Mayweather will take the fight as he is a better pound for pound boxer.

Good Point:cool:. A friend also mentioned Alvarez had not fought anyone of good calibre apart from Trout recently. Mayweather is good I just think he purposes picks his opponents just as they are over the hilll or before their prime, he is smart!

However when he fought Judah he hurt Mayweather a few times, but I think he will lose. He aint as Quick as he once was though. Will be a good fight though.

Mayweather won't be beaten unless he gets caught out with a haymaker which is very unlikely. Boxing is all about money and politics as Elliot mentioned above. If it goes to a decision Mayweather will win every time.

Mayweather is very cocky though. Bar maybe Hatton dont think he fought anyone truly in their prime. But you're right wouldnt suprise me if he won, even by KO.

Love him or hate him - your going to watch him! (mayweather)

For Mayweather it's all about the "legacy" so I think he'll do what he needs to do to remain undefeated. i.e defensive masterclass, taking very little risks against someone who is obviously the much bigger and heavier fighter. That's assuming Canelo makes weight.

Mayweather via not being there for Canelo to land his shots on.

Too smart, too quick in and out, too quick to hit you with shots you didn't see, usually with the straight right which he lands time and again despite everyone knowing it's coming at some point.

Canelo is a very good fighter though, will probably rule a division or two for the next few years unless someone close to as slick as Mayweather comes along.

The Trout fight showed Canelo's limitations, and Trout ain't no Mayweather. So I don't see this being a stern test for PBF, but I am really looking forward to it regardless.

I'm also very excited about Garcia vs Matthysse on the undercard. I like to see both of those guys box, and they're the top two fighters of one of the best divisions around right now, making it a ridiculously good fight for an undercard.

MI do like Mayweather I think he is very smart and knows how to find and use weaknesses against fighters. Just wish he didnt "Hand Pick" his opponents so much like he said - instead of fighting them when they're over the hill or not enough experience, then again you could argue -Some- other fighters do this too. But when you call yourself the greatest "hand picking" opponents should not be an option.

Cant see Alvarez giving Mayweather too much trouble.

Alvarez hasn't fought anyone of mayweathers calibre before and struggled against trout.

Much more appealing to me is watching Garcia getting knocked about by Matthysse for a while, I just don't think he's good enough or strong enough to deal with him....he will get bullied all night long.

excellent night of boxing ahead though. :)

Absolutely, although I can see Garcia getting knocked the **** out. Garcia is also deceptively heavy handed too though so will be interesting to see how Mathysse boxes.

Canelo has a ridiculously prolific (in terms of numbers) record at only 23 years old. I don't think he's going to land hard enough on Mayweather to take him out though. De La Hoya, Marquez, Mosley couldn't beat Mayweather and they were all of a higher calibre than Canelo.

Right I'm going to stick my neck on the line here and say Canelo wins by KO. Crazy as that sounds, assuming he makes weight, I think his youthfulness and weight advantage will pay dividends. Canelo to win by KO in Rd 6

~Must be mad!
