Hi. I was wondering if you guys could help me. I got a Mazda 6 TS and I've noticed that even when I put the light switch to OFF position the headlights stay on (oddly enough the dashboard display does switch itself off). At least when I switch the engine off and take the key out the lights do go off.

First I thought I have some kind of daylight sensor but they stay on even in broad daylight. I've checked the manual and it turns out I don't have anything like Daytime Driving Lights option in the car. I mean it is in present in the manual but the switch shown on the picture is not in my car, there's only a blank space where it should have been.

It really doesn't make any sense to me. Any ideas?

The 6 has the lights on all the time, it is mazdas version of daylight running lights, they changed this around 2009 ish i think, where you could turn lights on or off, or automatic. My father in law has a 6 sport and his lights are on all the time too. I think you can take it to mazda and get them to turn the function off, but not sure of cost etc.
