Besides, we have to keep these chefs on their toes - how boring would it be if all the steaks were the same to prepare! Each one has been individually prepared, just for you!

However, that steak looked spot on for me - though clearly just cos I'm alpha, I'd have it even rarer ;) :p

Been to Maze Grill a couple of times. The first time was good, the second time (end of last year) was disappointing. Gaucho's is another favourite which has gone downhill and disappointed over the last year or so. Not to worry though, this evening I'll be eating at Hawksmoor :D, is there is also Fyre Steak (Earlsfield, SW London) that does an extremely good fillet steak at half the price of Maze/Gaucho/Hawksmoor!
 
Too rare for me too. It's raw in the middle by the look of that photo and overdone on the outside. I think I'd prefer a slightly thinner cut and cooked less. I'd still enjoy it, mind, looks like an amazing piece of moocow ;)
