Lately, my Macbook has decided it would like to die everytime my battery level reaches around 30%. I thought it might just be cutting out because I had a few applications running, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any suggestions? Is the battery done?

Try downloading coconut battery, it tell you how much life is left in your battery

Brilliant dude, thanks!

I've just ran it, results are:
Current battery capacity: 4322 mAh
Original battery capacity: 5200 mAh.

Macbook age: 22 months.

I take it those results are pretty bad?

For 22 months no that is not bad, and besides, it shouldn't just cut out.

Take it back to an Apple store mate and see if they have any advice. I'd like to say just buy a new battery but there could be more wrong.

I thought I'd try that Coconut Battery app out, and apparently my original capacity was 5500 mAh, and my current is 6342 mAh!! Can this be right??

Btw, it's a 5 month old MBP.

Age 19 months, so yours seem normal? mines doesn't switch off at 30%. It isn't anything silly like a power save setting, is it?
