Those who go into management are generally those who can't succeed in actually producing. They can only move 'resources' and numbers about to get the work done. Those 'resources' being the people who actually have to do the work.

By the way, I am far from being a 'blue collar' worker. The majority of managers I have come across are there because they can talk the talk, but are unable to walk the walk. I have met one or two who can. They are the exception, rather than the rule.

I agree. A lot of the managers I have come across are FAR from that. They are there cos they are **** at anything else!

The OP was asking for advice about an MBA, a qualification that can be used in millions of different ways. Your trolling and cliches probably aren't helping. Sounds like you have an experience of a certain type of organisation - perhaps that doesn't apply as widely as you would like to think.
 
I've come across my fair share of managers who can't walk the walk but can talk the talk.

I think everybody has. Doesn't mean they are all like that however. I've had about 50/50 split of good / bad bosses in my short life experience.

I don't think its fair to accuse me of 'trolling'. Just because you disagree with my views doesn't mean I am trying to get a reaction. Perhaps you are tring to provoke a reaction from me, by accusing me of trolling?

a pall of mine is an engineer who is in the final stages of an MBA, when he is finished will he no longer be able to 'walk the walk' and only be able to 'talk the talk'? I hope he realises. Last time I saw him he was struggling to walk and talk but it was a big night.
