MBA SSD upgrade

So, the gf bought a MBA ages ago and has unsurprisingly run out of space thanks to it's pretty small SSD. Instead of buying a whole new laptop (which she has) I'm saying she she should just move pictures etc to an external HDD and upgrade the SSD.
I've had a look for SSD upgrades for MBA 13" (mid 2013) but the PCIe one's I'm finding seem to have two different types; some with one notch on the end and some with two notches in the end, like this:

Two notches:

One notch:

I don't know if either of these are suitable but after some googling this was the sort of thing coming up, can't link obviously so if these are any good or there are other boards I can have a look at some pointers would be appreciated, I'm looking at 512Gb+.

Thanks a lot

Or, just pay £2.49 per month for 200GB of iCloud storage, enable iCloud Photo Library, job done. All the oldest photos will get removed from the local drive, leaving thumbnails behind, and you can retrieve them later at any point.

Didn't think of that. Thanks.

I thought that you needed one specifically designed for the Macbook. Could be wrong, but was under the impression the connector is proprietary
No idea about this one but it wouldn't surprise me. Saying that, would Apple use memory specifically designed for their laptops? Surely thats not doing their profit margins much good. Thanks though I'll look into it, unless someone can confirm.
