MBP - Battery dying on me...

Managed to get my battery replaced (can keep the original) after calling up the second time not long ago. The first time they refused to replace it because of my battery's current cycle count

After expressing my disappointment, I got transferred to customer relations who offered to replace it for free since they see me as a valued customer :o

Wish I could get the latch button replaced since the finish is wearing off for no reason. I called two Apple service providers near me since there are no official Apple stores near me unfortunately. Both have stated they need to change the whole bottom casing just to replace the button. Received a quote of £200 just to do this  :(

Did you purchase your MBP through the Higher Education store or the Further Education store?

I just tried looking at the warranties for both stores and they both say it's 1 year. The HE store provided 3 years warranty unless they have changed it because I can't find anything on the HE store stating that Macs come with a 3 year warranty. I can only see 1 year warranty

The FE store might only provide a year warranty not 3 :(

They are 100% covered.

Ring again and speak to someone else, my MBP is 15 months old (3 months out of the 'year' warranty) and they replaced it for me.

I'll ring again tomorrow, hopefully speak to somebody that's in this country (or can at least speak english fluently) and get it sorted.

What number did you use? 08708 760 753 ?

I rang 0207 1539000 which is the Apple Store in Regent Street, it's an automated thing, so you choose 2 and it transfers you to technical support. That way, you wont get ripped off by an 0870 number.

Ah okay, I think I'll ring the bluewater store (or just walk down there, though not all my software is 100% official so not sure I should let them poke around with it :p)
