After selling my late 2008 MPB a while ago and waiting for the refresh which ive never actually bought, im now in a position to buy a MBP as im now mac-less

After seeing the event yesterday im soo tempted with the 11" Air for now as my main machine connected to my 30" monitor until the next major MBP refresh.

I know there was a slight speed bump yesterday to the pros but im waiting on a major bump /redisign.

So i plan on going for an 11" top spec machine now (after recently sellling my 11" TZ) and using it as my main machine for use with my 30" panel.

Do you think this will be a capable machine for light web use and light video editing using imovie? or will the air struggle powering the 2560 x 1600 res with its mediocre specs?

Also when do you think we will see a major refrsh of the pros?

I believe the new Air has roughly the same specs as the MacBook and the base MBP, it'll be fine for the usage you've listed.

Think you'd be better off going for an MBP now though really, especially if it's just gonna be connected to your monitor most of the time!
 
Yeah im tempted with a MBP now but with the intergrated flash thats just been introduced in the airs....im hopeing for dual storage on newer pros.

Say a 128gb flash storage aswell as a 2.5" internal bay for additional storage.

May or may not happen.

Do you think we are likely to see a refresh in Jan/feb time?
