When I get to the window for selecting a drive to install on - it says
'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR parition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.'
How can I sort this to make a clean installation of Windows 8 on my once wonderful Samsung 830 SSD?
Backstory:
Put a new system together about 4 months ago. (As in sig, with a 128gb ssd to boot from). Worked an absolute treat. Went to turn it on this week and it started to boot an old copy of Windows XP x64 - so I thought the ssd had failed and it was running off an old hdd.
Spoke to a friend and he suggested I check the bios settings where sure enough, it had reverted to IDE in the Sata boot modes. Changed it to AHCI, Windows 8 begins to boot again. However, it failed to boot and went into a 'Diagnosing PC' 'Attempting Automatic Repair' 'Windows Could not achieve an automatic repair' etc. loop.
So this morning I thought screw it, I'll format tried to reinstall windows and...
