I tried and tested my harddrive etc, seems like one

unable to boot/unable to install new xp

I tried to do fdisk /mbr i got a message saying "packed file is corrupt" or no response at all

a:\> fdisk /mbr
(nothing shows up)

a:\> fdisk /mbr
Packed file is corrput

I've tried that, and I got a funky little error message that goes:

file \i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded
the error code is 4

setup cannot continue. press any key to exit

when I go into the xp setup screen.

I assume it was my xp installation disc's problem but I cannot confirm as the disk actually runs on my other pc without any problem  utter confused I am.

After I reset my Bios and all the overclocking figures that I have missed, I tried to run the windows xp setup again..then a even weirder message showed up:

Line 8364 of the INF file \i386\txtsetup.sif is invalid

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit

but i cant get into recovery console. the error mentioned above kept on popping up no matter what I do.

could it be the windows xp installation disc? I certainly hope that is the case. i'll test with another installation disc :(
