McCanns going too far?

Sure, I don't think anyone here wants Maddy to have been harmed. But you can really only expect people to solemnly follow the prolonged coverage for so long, especially since there's a good chance the parents were involved (especially given the dodgy friends' accounts) and are using the fund to pay their mortgage. If they are innocent I still don't see why they deserve to have their mortgage paid, and sorry if I sound cold but I'd rather hear about something else that is actually news than have the same story rehashed and a wall of reporters staring live at a door.

I take it you've never had a child of yours go missing???? Most people find moving house stressful! Draw your own comparisons!

The tapas 7 didn't lose there children.

Plus McCanns loved there children that much they left them alone in a villa for hours.

Tapas 7

JANE TANNER
Jane, 38, has provided the most crucial evidence by saying she saw a man carry a child from the McCann's apartment at 9.15pm - 45 minutes before Kate raised the alarm.

DR RUSSELL O'BRIEN
Dr O'Brien, 36, was away from the group between 9.30pm and 10.15pm while he tended his ill daughter.

He said Robert Murat was outside the McCann's apartment that night.

Murat, 33, says he was at home with his mum.

DR MATTHEW OLDFIELD
Dr Oldfield, 37, said he checked on the McCann children at 9.30pm but did not actually see Madeleine.

The hospital consultant also saw Murat. He may be quizzed again by police.

RACHAEL OLDFIELD
Mum-of-one Rachael, 36, was the one who told Jane Maddy had disappeared.

The recruitment consultant told police she saw Murat as well.

DR DAVID PAYNE
Dr Payne, 41, was the last one other than the McCanns to see Maddy alive.

The Leicester University scientist checked on her and Kate while Gerry played tennis at 6.30pm.

DR FIONA PAYNE
The 34-year-old mum-oftwo and wife of David also told police she saw Murat.

The couple are the only ones reported to have used a baby monitor that night.

DIANNE WEBSTER
Mother of Fiona Payne, she told police each couple were responsible for their own children that night.

Does that mean that I can claim compensation then? I found it extremely stressful when I moved house and I've lost just as many kids as that so called "Tapas 7"!

All I was stressing was my hope and sincere wish that Maddy is found unharmed. We can surmise all we like, the immature can add their own ramblings and some can add their comments based on mass generalisations.
As a mother and grandmother I can only sympathise with the family in question and hope that one day in the near future their torment can be laid to rest.
I hope that none of you ever has to go through the horror of having your child go missing, irrespective of the circumstances.

I don't think anyone here is downplaying how horrible the fate of Madeline has been or how stressful the events will have been for those involved, but what most are saying is that it's over and people should really give up all hope of finding her alive. As i previously stated i would probably find it more disturbing if she was found alive tomorrow as what she would have most likely have to go through over the past couple of years would do unspeakable amounts of damage to her psyche.

I won't get started on my feelings about the parents and their uses of the investigation fund, enough people have voiced the same opinion as me and it is ultimately irrelevant.

That is my point. It's NOT over and never will be until the child is either found or the exact circumstances of her disappearance are known.
Were any restrictions on the use of the funds raised for Maddy ever made public? I'm not interested in the possible abuse of the funds raised. My main concern is the fate of the child in question.
One thing I do agree with you with is that her parents will probably be thinking that the opinions of the masses are irrelevant. All they want is their child home with them. They will deal with the future problems as they arise.

I never said an investigation shouldn't continue, the person(s) responsible should be put to justice, what i am saying is that so many people seem to be hoping she is still alive when she clearly isn't.

They're BACK

An image of how Madeleine McCann might look now, if still alive, has been released ahead of the second anniversary of her disappearance.

Gerry and Kate McCann are to distribute their daughter's image worldwide as part of their continuing search for Madeleine, who vanished aged three.

God knows where she is, but she is long gone in either sense, sad and annoying to read about what parents would put there childrens life at risk for some food on holiday, last year we took my sister and niece with us and we all went home for a reasonable time. I even took her home and babysat and to think these well educated people would put their trust in a tourist resort and then bleet to the press and news.

I just said to my gf during the news, "you know I'm glad than Mcann thing is finally out the media". I honestly couldn't believe it when that picture came on, at least they're done with Jade unless they dig her up.

I believe Madeleine was kidnapped and is probably dead by now.

Many people take the line that "this case is only received so much publicity because the parents are rich professionals". That view was shattered by the Shannon Matthews case, which proved that the attention of the media and the public is grabbed by events, rather than socio-economic factors.

Continued interest in the McCann story is generated largely and primarily by the fact that Madeleine's disappearance was so mysterious; it's almost a Marie Celeste situation. The child simply vanished without any trace or evidence, while her siblings were left behind, unharmed. Of course, her parents have worked hard to keep their campaign running, which is both commendable and perfectly understandable.

I believe that the McCanns were terribly negligent - perhaps criminally so - and I think they should be prosecuted for it. But I do not believe they are murderers.

If - by some miraculous and as-yet-undiscovered means - they did kill their daughter, they must be criminal masterminds of the highest order, because at this stage the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is a classic example of the perfect crime.
