MCE Remote

From looking around the net, it would appear that you can longer buy the official mce remote I know you can pick one up from auction, but was wondering if the xbox 360 remote would work?

I have a 'venom' remote control that came free with my 360 and didn't know if it would work under Vista Media Centre if I picked up an infrared receiver.

Shame the MCE remote is kinda hard to get now as I've broke mine, doing a Google shopping search shows one or two sites mind.

I'm currently looking at getting one of the Logitech Harmony series myself, just not settled on which one yet.
