MCU - general discussion thread

You pretty much nailed the scores on the movies, we must have very similar taste, except for Black Panther which is a 6.5 for me, and Captain Marvel which is a 5 (SLJ saved it from being a 3 to be frank)
Thanks!

Those 2 were always gonna be the most polarising ones, even by looking at other people's scores. A 5.0 for me would be a don't watch again, which so far hasn't happened for any MCU movie.

With every new movie coming to D+ 2-3 months after release it's guaranteed I'll watch them a second time after having seen them 1st in the Cinema. Eternals is the only one I regretted the second watch. I might even drop it to a 5.5 :D

I might even re-asses my scores for the TV shows, as they really don't have replay value compared to the movies and requires a longer time investment to rewatch.

Yes, i've only watched Captain Marvel once and I don't intend to ever watch it again. Brie Larson ruined the film for me, her horrible attitude stunk up the movie, and looked arrogant both on and off the screen. She seems a lot better in later appearances on screen but unfortunately she damaged the brand and I don't think she'll be able to redeem herself in my eyes unless she does a Mel-Culpa and says sorry for her arrogance when the part went to her head.

Black Panther was half way decent, but the plot was a bit of a Lion King rip-off (look at the plot beat for beat) and the CGI was inexcusably poor in places. And the Suri character was obnoxious as hell (Which is the main reason I'll skip the sequel) I'll probably watch it again in some future marathon but I won't go out of my way to see it again on it's own.

I gave up on the MCU after Ant-Man and haven’t regretted my decision once.

You should watch up until Endgame (Skipping Captian Marvel), then the two Spider-Man movies that come after, and then give up after that, it falls down a very dark well after that

Dude, don't even

And i knew at the time while watching the movie!
I watched it, It's only 3m19s long, posted a summary image for those who don't have time to watch.

1) Some bits are true and funny, but I didn't think of at the time
2) Some bits are just silly
3) Would probably go better in the Wakanda Forever thread
4) Checked the channel and realised all the videos are 24 reasons why film x is like film y
5) Googled "Lion King Black Panther" and there does seem to be a lot of articles :D

Well it popped into my head during the movie when he was speaking to his ghost dad and i just thought, "Man, this is the same as Lion King!"

Eternals 2 teaser out, with Chloe Zhao directing again, first one was awful and I'm pretty sure this one will be too, CBA to add the trailer.
Don't see it on the Marvel YouTube channel. Seems strange they would give a teaser to this film, that no one wants, considering it's probably phase 6 or 7 and phase 5 hasn't begun yet!
