add this to the fact that Travelex are the most convenient and it's a no brainer really

Just be careful that a lot of the ATM's in Vegas charge you a hefty fee to draw cash out

Too right they do, I know a couple that only charge $4 but some charge as much as 10% with a $20 minimum

Agreed. Though I rely on my cards in the States too as I get a very good rate.

I do for restaurants etc ( it seems tacky paying cash in a very smart restaurant ) but generally use cash/travellers cheques to avoid the big shock of the CC bill when I get home

Yeah I do the same, besides paying several hundred for a meal if you haven't got benji's makes life a bit tedious! I don't get too much of a shock as I use my holiday account so I know that I'll be ok as I've budgeted for my holiday!

I'm off to Vegas in a week and a half (doing a rotty and getting married at the bellagio) and was looking at travelex today to get currency from, will probably just use them rather than have it delivered.

Christ, I remember seeing on some ATMs something like $2 withdrawl charge, although I never saw these charges on my statement :confused:

Nationwide will most likely give 1.95 or so, their rates are usually just below the ones over on XE.

there are not any banks in the tourist areas in Vegas, I assume property/land costs too much

The ATMs in casinos are real rip offs, there are some ( probable ) bank ones located in walls of shops etc and these are usually the best ones

Just slightly OT, Im getting married in Cyprus so need a good few thousand euros, is it better to change most of it while out there or get travellers cheques beforehand? Where gives the best rates?
