Measuring 60-0 mph on carwow using a 100-0 measurement

Anyway, this test completely takes reaction time out of the equation anyway.
even though human reaction time might be out of picture, thought newest cars had a brake assists which would somehow increase servo assist if pressure on the pedal really indicated a desire to stop ?
so there is a reaction time on the electronics.

anyway never watch carwow stuff - Matt is up himself versus Thomas.

Matt is kind of fun and infectious on some of the stuff he does but I agree, his competitivity - much to play up for cameras - is a bit cringe when he does the drag races like his life depends on winning in a car that he doesn't own. Matt also always jumps the starts. I literally don't get that. Why lie to yourself and everyone by cheating in a race that is meant to show what the cars can do. He seems to like to make it about his ability to launch a car, which for the majority of the quick stuff they test, is following instructions for said car. Anyone can do it.

I used to think he was great years a go when I stumbled across his car reviews for Car Buyer. He was funny in a sort of British self-deprecating way, and some of his practicality tests like where he can fit 1.5L bottles, bananas etc felt relatively fresh (although I dare say he wasn't the first) rather than a cliche. I think now he's 'blown up' it's almost like he's pitched as the face of CarWow, and maybe that's gone to his head a bit, like he's bigger than the content.

Are you under the impression anyone does anything other than mash the brake pedal as hard as possible in an emergency stop on UK roads? Even "better" drivers with sports cars are still just mashing the pedal. 0.01 % of people will do better than ABS by cadence braking, or trying to depress the pedal just enough to be braking but not entering ABS kicking in.
With their 4 brake pedals ?

my more considered view on Matt is he's like Guy Martins evil twin, or (wired) Cornholio - hadn't seen that clip for ages https://youtu.be/Ii8H2tYcFYY?t=7

google had subsequently told me that if you have lifted your foot off of the accelerator quickly emergency braking is primed - so maybe tests need to be done with cruise on,
also that speed you hit brake pedal with is also boosting pressure, and non-linear response

The first stage, the Predictive Brake Assistant (PBA), prepares the braking system for an emergency stop by pre-filling the circuit with fluid such that the linings are just in contact with the discs. The tripping threshold of the Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) system is also lowered. In this way Bosch claim that as soon as the driver initiates braking, full braking performance is available, around 30ms earlier than without the system, significantly shortening braking distances. Bosch suggest that this will offer substantial safety benefits because only one-third of drivers react to an emergency braking situation with a full brake application and also state that "most drivers are so hesitant that hydraulic brake assist is not activated".

Love a reply that’s just a Google copy and paste. How about trying to add you own flair too it. I thought AI could do anything now a days.
